We’re on a mission to redefine how kids and families learn about money. As a Software Engineer in a growing fintech/edtech company, you’ll help build a 3D virtual world where financial literacy meets immersive play.
Based in Southport on the Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to contribute to an ambitious product in a close-knit, creative team—where finance meets game tech.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using Node.js
- Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to power game and platform features
- Collaborate with the Unity team to ensure smooth backend-to-frontend integration
- Design and manage database schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) for performance and integrity
- Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
- Partner with front-end developers, designers, and product stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- ✅ 2–4 years of backend development experience
- ✅ Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- ✅ Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other modern databases
- ✅ Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment best practices
- ✅ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Bonus Points For
- ✨ Experience integrating backend services with Unity or other game engines
- ✨ Passion for education, fintech, or building experiences for families and kids
- ✨ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- ✨ Experience with Docker and containerisation

🚨 Important Requirement
This role is based full-time in our Southport office on the Gold Coast. You must be comfortable working Monday to Friday, in-office alongside the product and engineering teams.
