Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SB USA Inc and Kids Money App Australia Pty Ltd (together, “Bank’d,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information through the Bank’d mobile app, parent portal, websites, products, and support services.

Information We Collect

  • Account and family information: names, email addresses, phone numbers, login and account identifiers, parent or guardian details, child profile details, age or date-of-birth information where needed, and household relationships.
  • Financial and card information: membership status, card status and controls, transaction and balance information, savings activity, payment and fulfillment records, and information required by our banking, card, payment, identity-verification, and compliance partners. Bank’d does not store full payment-card details when they are processed directly by an authorized payment provider.
  • App activity: progress, games and educational activities, goals, preferences, feature usage, device and app version, diagnostics, crash information, security events, and approximate location derived from an IP address.
  • Support and website information: messages, name, email, phone number, order details, chat content, IP address, browser information, and information submitted through our contact forms.
  • Information from permissions: information from device features only when a feature requires it and permission is granted. You can change device permissions in iOS Settings.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain accounts, parent controls, cards, memberships, financial-literacy features, games, purchases, and customer support.
  • Process transactions, orders, card fulfillment, renewals, and account servicing.
  • Verify identity or parental authority, prevent fraud, secure accounts, investigate misuse, and comply with financial and legal obligations.
  • Communicate service notices, transaction alerts, support responses, and—with appropriate consent—product news or marketing.
  • Measure reliability and improve features using data appropriate for a family-focused service.

Children’s Privacy

Bank’d is designed for families. A parent or guardian must create or authorize a child’s account and manage the child’s participation. We collect children’s information only as needed to provide the service, maintain safety, support parental controls, and meet legal requirements. We do not use children’s personal information for behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell children’s personal information.

A parent or guardian may review, correct, or request deletion of a child’s personal information by emailing admin@bankd.com. We may verify identity and parental authority before completing a request.

When We Share Information

We may share information only as needed with:

  • Banking, card issuing, payment, identity-verification, fraud-prevention, shipping, and regulatory partners that support Bank’d services.
  • Service providers that host systems, provide security, communications, support, and technical operations.
  • Shopify for website products, checkout, payment, orders, shipping, and taxes; Intercom for website support chat; and hCaptcha for contact-form abuse prevention.
  • Government authorities or other parties when required by law, necessary to protect users or the service, or connected with a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Service providers may use information only for the services they perform for us, subject to their contracts and applicable law. We do not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and Deletion

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve support matters, protect users, prevent fraud, and satisfy financial, tax, accounting, regulatory, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it.

To request account deletion or deletion of personal information, use the account-deletion option in the app when available, or email admin@bankd.com with the subject “Bank’d Account Deletion Request.” Deleting an account removes or de-identifies information that is not legally required to be retained. Some transaction, fraud-prevention, dispute, tax, or regulatory records may be retained as required by law.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may disable optional device permissions in iOS Settings and unsubscribe from promotional email using the message instructions or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already completed and may limit features that require the information.

Security and International Processing

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No system is completely secure. Because Bank’d operates in the United States and Australia and uses service providers in other locations, information may be processed outside your state, province, or country with safeguards required by applicable law.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
